Dear neighbours,
Jazz on the Green- Thank You!
A huge thank you to everyone who helped make Jazz such a fantastic day. It’s our favourite event of the year and we were thrilled with how it all came together. That said, we’re always looking to improve so if you have any feedback, please don’t hesitate to get in touch (and thank you to those who already have!).
You can find most of the highlights, including stallholders and artists, over on our instagram. A special shoutout to Dragonfly Tales for the wonderful children’s area, our brilliant MC, Andy, Lizzy and Jenny for the event organising, The Mildmay Club for lending us sound equipment and putting on an excellent after party and Richard, Aaron, and the New Unity volunteers who were invaluable on the day.
Many of you enjoyed food from Haifa House- the Palestinian food stall. All their proceeds went directly to Gaza. As you’ll know, aid is incredibly difficult to get in at the moment, but Habibah, a small grassroots organisation that Haifa House is connected to, continues to provide direct support. You can support their current work via their GoFundMe here.
Solar Panels for Newington Green Primary - We’re Nearly There!
We haven’t asked for donations in a while, as most of our work has been grant-funded. But now we need your help!
We’re incredibly close to securing the final funding needed to install solar panels on Newington Green Primary School- a project we’ve been developing alongside the school for over two years. If we succeed, this will be Islington’s first school with solar panels!
The panels will reduce the school’s carbon footprint and free up thousands of pounds every year for learning and enrichment- not energy bills.
Here’s how you can help:
All donations up to £250 will be match-funded and eligible for Gift Aid, meaning your donation could grow by 125%!
If you can give more than £250 or have access to an employee match scheme, please get in touch directly by replying to this email.
👉 Donate or find out more here
We’ll be in touch again soon with updates from the Environment Sub-Committee’s engagement with Islington Council about the Mildmay Liveable Neighbourhood, our upcoming AGM and some exciting new improvements for the Green.
In solidarity,
Team NGAG
