Organising Events

For many years we have been running free local events on the green, bringing our community together and celebrating its richness and diversity. These range from summer festivals to festive Carols on the Green, working with local primary schools.

In July 2023 we staged JAZZ and MORE on THE GREEN in partnership with Local & Live in Hackney. It featured a diverse lineup of talented local musicians, and celebrated the history of dissent in Newington Green, along with children’s entertainment, food, drink and retail stalls. The sun was out for us and it was a wonderful day!

The date for our 2024 summer event will be announced soon. It will be a free concert and celebration of local talent, with a range of family entertainment, food, stalls…something for everyone. Watch this space for further details.
