Our Environment Sub-Committee works to protect and improve Newington Green, helping make the area healthier and more enjoyable for everyone.

We focus on issues such as:

• Reducing air pollution and the impact of motor traffic

• Promoting renewable energy and sustainable materials, including working to install solar panels on public buildings

• Encouraging recycling and better waste management

If you’d like to get involved, please email environment@newingtongreen.org. We’re always happy to welcome new volunteers, whether you’re interested in advocacy and helping hold Islington and Hackney councils to account or more hands-on work like gardening and watering planters. There will be a role for you.
